Dear Friends,
We pray that you are well and that God is blessing you in this beautiful Christmas season.
We are doing well and have had a fantastic year in ministry.
But we didn’t do it alone. Our work was made possible because someone cared and partnered with us in ministry.
Because someone cared, 85 students from one of the most dangerous parts of Guatemala City can come for afternoon classes three hours a day, three times a week, and learn about God, receive help with their homework, get tutored in Math and reading, and learn computer skills.
Because someone cared, 16 profoundly disabled children and young adults at a government orphanage are compassionately cared for by our nannies and special educators day in and day out, receiving the love and attention they so desperately need.
Because someone cared, Dennis, an 11-year-old boy from one of the most dangerous parts of the city, someone who has been kicked out of many schools for being a difficult child, has come to know God and is using the brains and intellect God gave him not just to learn web design and 3D modeling, but to teach it to other students.
Because someone cared, Cindy, a young mother from the slums of Guatemala, has come to know God through weekly women’s Bible studies and has volunteered to help tutor children at our center.
Because someone cared, Jonathan, a brilliant 14-year-old, can attend programs at our community center, where he has become a leader and teacher in robotics and programming to other students.
Because someone cared, 200 children are served every week at our two new community centers, where they receive nutritional assistance, participate in discipleship classes, and receive educational assistance.
Because someone cared, Gaby, a girl who spent most of her life in an orphanage, could graduate from high school when she left and study English, giving her skills that can help break the cycle of poverty so prevalent in Guatemala.
Because someone cared, lives are being changed through the power of the Gospel, and for that we are incredibly grateful.
We are incredibly grateful for each and every person who has helped to make this ministry possible.
Thank you for being a part of what God has done in Guatemala this past year.
Blessings in Christ, Timothy and Sharie Martiny
