Vacation Camp at Fundannos

This month was Fundaninos first vacation camp for the kids, their school ended at the beginning of November and for two weeks they had a great time having cooking, woodworking, dance, music and art class. In the cooking classes with Sharie, the students baked and decorated Christmas cookies and treats, made pies for Thanksgiving dinner and enjoyed eating the snacks they made.

Tim taught the engineering and woodworking classes where the students designed and made Christmas decorations which they are selling as part of our entrepreneurial program. The profits of all products made by the students go to the children and most of it is placed into savings.

During the camp it was wonderful to see how our classes throughout the year have paid off, watching the students use the skills and knowledge we have taught them to accomplish their tasks was a wonderful validation of the value of the work we do, hour after hour, day after day and year after year until our job is done.

Thanksgiving

p>We enjoyed a wonderful Thanksgiving meal at Fundaninos. Even though this is traditionally an American holiday, we celebrate it as a day to give thanks to God for the many blessings he has given us. We had four large sheets around the dining room and the children filled them up with countless things they were grateful for.

Graduation

Attending the graduation for two of the girls from the orphanage Fundaninos was a very special moment. To see them come up to receive their diplomas from their teachers, to hear about how well they had studied and to see the pride on their faces at what they had accomplished, was truly wonderful.
